Mohammad Ali ALNSOUR is currently the Chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
He has also served as adviser to the High Commissioner for Human Rights (2014- 15). Prior to that, he held the posts of Director at the Legal Department of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013), Human Rights Advisor to the Jordanian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2009-13) and Senior Officer in the cabinet of the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2008-9).
He served at the Jordanian Permanent Mission to the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt (2003-8) where he participated in the drafting of the Arab Charter on Human Rights and served as an elected member of the Charter’s committee. He also worked as legal researcher in the Office of the Prime Minister from 1998 to 2001. He is a lawyer and member of the Jordanian Bar Association. He holds a Master’s degree in International Law and Human Rights, Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution, Higher diploma in Diplomacy, and BA in Law.
He is a Jordanian national, married with three children.
