As Programme Manager Mica, Claire van Bekkum is responsible for Terres des Hommes’ programme to eradicate child labor in mica mining. Within this role she was part of the research done on Global Mica Mining and the impact on Children's Right (SOMO, 2018) and a follow up research on Child Labourers in Madagascar's Mica Sector (SOMO, nov2019), and will extend the Mica programme to Madagascar as of 2020. From 2002 onwards Claire has worked for several NGO's and since 2011, she has been concentrating on working in projects concerning child rights and development aid. Before becoming the Programme Manager of the Mica programme of Terre des Hommes, she has been involved in projects in Burundi, Uganda, and Thailand/Myanmar, among others working for Right To Play Int.
