Househam Anita

Telenor
Director of Human Rights
As Director of Human Rights, Anita leads the Human Rights focus area within Telenor Group’s Sustainability team. A key dimension of this role is ensuring that internal policies and practices are in place to integrate human rights due diligence, supporting Telenor’s business units with their implementation of its human rights framework, driving internal awareness, engaging with stakeholders and enabling transparency. Anita sits in a number of internal advisory groups and represents Telenor on the Board of the Global Network Initiative.
Before joining Telenor in 2019 Anita was as Senior Manager at the UN Global Compact Office in New York. She joined the UN Global Compact in 2010 and managed its decent work and supply chain sustainability portfolio, in addition to a number of specific initiatives focused on business and human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. On behalf of the UN Global Compact she was also a member of the steering group that launched and managed the development of the Children’s Rights and Business Principles, in collaboration with UNICEF and Save the Children.
Anita has gained previous experience from multistakeholder initiatives, responsible investment and international development, and holds a Masters of International Business Law at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
