Anirudha Nagar is the Director of Accountability Counsel's Communities program, working to assist communities to defend their environmental and human rights, and have their voices heard by the financiers of development projects. He is supporting Indigenous communities across Asia, including communities in India living on tea plantations in Assam and those whose sacred sites have been desecrated in Jharkhand, communities aggrieved by hydropower projects in Nepal, and Karen communities resisting top-down conservation in Myanmar.

Prior to joining Accountability Counsel, he worked for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, advocating for police accountability across South Asia, and in the Office of the Prosecution at the International Criminal Court, advising the Chief Prosecutor on international law and procedure.
